So many people ask me…How do you make your Glass Beads?

How I make glass beads, 3 secrets to making glass beads

I’ll share a few of my secrets with you!

I love making glass beads or as I call them…Art Forms in Glass.

Did you catch it? It’s my first biggy secret!

Learning to think about my glass as art forms literally change how I approach making my glass beads.

How does one make glass beads?

What you create in glass is a reflection of who you are as a human being.

Have an intention of putting your heart and soul into a piece of glass that will probably last longer than you live.

Your children or people who love your art will have your beads as mementos of you, just the way paintings, quilts and other handmade art are treasured by generations to come.

How do you make glass beads that are an unique expression of yourself?

The 2nd secret to how to make glass beads is to make glass art that is expressing your innermost thoughts and passions.

We each have unique childhoods, experiences and viewpoints causing us to see the world uniquely different from anyone else on this earth.

An artist becomes famous because of her ability to tap into her personal view points on life and express them in an unique way in her art. What makes her art desirable is her ability to resonate a strong emotional response from others with her art.

For example…It’s like playing a musical cord that reminds others of wonderful memories from childhood.

Disney’s theme song of “Wish Upon A Star” is a perfect example. You got to admit you instantly feel good when you sing that tune, thus creating a strong, happy, emotional connection about Disney.

Thomas Kinkade appealed to the masses by capturing the emotions of the well being, idyllic and pleasant aspects of the country life in his paintings.

Kinkade said, “People who put my paintings on their walls are putting their values on their walls: faith, family, home, a simpler way of living, the beauty of nature, quiet, tranquility, peace, joy, hope.”

Kinkade had a laser purpose each time he did a painting. He goal was to beckon you into his altered world that provided an alternative to the negativity of the nightly news broadcast. His end goal was to get you to purchase his art.

You will need to have a focus… a strong “WHY” you do your art.

You can call it your style, your artistic statement or simply why you create what you do. Ultimately, you want to emotionally connect with the viewer so strongly they will desire to own a piece of your vision.

You will need to learn how to stand out from the crowd… by having a reason why people should buy your glass beads over all the others out in the marketplace.

If your beads or art can speak to people in a special way and emotionally move them to feelings of happiness or strong connection… they will desire them.

The 3rd secret to making glass beads or any art is…

Before you ask how do you make glass beads, decide WHY you want to make glass beads in the first place.

The time spent soul searching will be time well spent towards creating a special place in people’s hearts with your glass beads or art.

This guiding light will shine a path for you to travel as you create your art work. The answer to your question of how do you make glass beads will be so much more easily accomplished if you’ve got your foundation roots established.
