My flower earrings series secrets can be the answer to your woes.

No matter who you are or what you do, you’ll find working in series, like my flower earrings series, is the elixir of life.

Do you feel stagnant? Don’t know what to do to change things?

I felt the same way until I learned how to turn my life around through my art years ago. This post is sharing with you how I work through creative blocks with my secret weapon. It’s what makes my art special! And you can do it too!

Pushing your boundaries as an individual requires you to grow. And with growth, there is creativity, new life, new perspectives, & refreshing insights into who you are & your happiness.

Let me explain

I had the most wonderful art teacher who required her students to hand in 100 paintings each week. And many times you were limited to one group of objects to paint. Are you thinking impossible? At the beginning of the semester, there was a lot of moans & groans but as the semester progress, there was tremendous growth in each student who really put her heart & spirit into the assignments.

Creative growth

Oh, the first 10-20 paintings came easily but then you would hit a wall, a blank wall, as if you have used everything up inside of yourself and nothing was left. You faced a wall created by your deepest core beliefs that in some things you are just not good enough & that this assignment is impossible for you to do. That fear echoed in your emptiness, bringing up all your other failures & the core belief that “you’re just not enough”.

Empowerment

Our teacher sprinkled crumbs of wisdom, preparing you for the journey, though at the time you did not realize it. Giving examples, ideas & methods other people had used to achieve monumental tasks, our lecture classes were filled with exploring  techniques & what we thought were silly exercises. If you trusted her & used them, though, you were guided along your way, giving you a glimmer of hope.

There were examples of others who achieved success after refusing to give up. Ideas of learning by viewing things from multiple viewpoints. We explored new mediums such as charcoal, wax, gritty sandpaper.

We learned a new way of feeling, identifying with another’s emotions. Such things as how does an apple feel compared to a peach? (Sounds crazy?) Touch, sound, & the sharpness of an edge. And how does the softness of a line reflect a deeper meaning? You were being pushed & shoved out of your comfort zone!

Spiritual growth

You have to go beyond your 5 senses if you want to succeed & enter into your soul. You have to dance with your muses to truly feel sensations, vibrations & the energy around you.

It takes time to break down your judgements, your beliefs of how the world exist. You must trust that what you have within is truly connected to something much greater than you & grander than words can express.

That’s why creating is so exhilarating & freeing. You are connecting with the magnificence from within. To the Divine, nothing is impossible.

Artistic growth

Embracing the method of series in anything in life pushes you beyond your comfort zone, your belief patterns. You are invited to explore virgin territories of new worlds of blest. You become who you are meant to be with all your uniqueness and preciousness. It’s there inside all of us, waiting…waiting…waiting, that only you can unlock the door to!

I have never forgotten my art teacher’s lesson of series. Whether I’m cooking, gardening, writing, painting or torching, I push, I explore and I do A LOT of failing. I’m a ‘what if’ type of person. I know if I’ll keep trying, I’ll discover a greatness inside myself that is the ‘Divine’!

My Calligraphy Flower Earrings Series

So what does all this stuff have to do with my ‘Calligraphy Flower Earrings Series’? Simply, it’s a new journey I’m taking to explore another lampwork technique. It intrigues me because I love to draw.

I’m sure if you’ve ever drawn something, you know what a challenge it is.

Well, compound drawing with using a glass stringer so thin that it crumbles in your hand if you hold it too tightly. And learning to hold the stringer outside the flame just far enough so it doesn’t turn into a molten blob but close enough so the glass stringer will gently bend & curve to create a flower. Oh yea, and keeping the bead hot enough so it doesn’t crack outside the flame while you’re drawing the flower.

Lots of failures are going on in this series, time is evaporating as minutes turn into hours. The challenge of this calligraphy flower earrings series has become part of the plan and ‘what ifs’ are sprouting everywhere!

The secret is not to be so interested in mastering the technique to duplicate. But rather, the challenge is where can this technique take you? What wonderous doors will this technique open for you? Where will you touch the Divine in yourself and soar with its magnificent loving energy?

What are you looking for?

Isn’t that what we are all looking for? Like Dr. Wayne Dyer said…to feel good is to feel God. Wearing beautiful jewelry and surrounding ourselves with gorgeous, uplifting art allows us to connect with the Divine! Some say that’s all we need to have peace in the world…Love!
