EXCITING NEWS!

I am doing my first bead show in 4 years this weekend! It’s a little scary dipping my toes back into the bead show world. I hope to meet new friends that I’ve gotten to converse with over FB, Lampwork Etc. and my blog. It would be wonderful to put a face on some of these wonderful new friends! I hope if you live near Austin, Texas, you will drop by and say “HI” and touch a few of my lovely glass gems!

MORE EXCITING NEWS!

I’m going to make my first lampwork tutorial! I’m not sure what exactly I want to do so I would really like your COMMENTS about what you would like to see in this tutorial.

I’ve had some thoughts about including some art theory, some color theory and glass lampwork techniques on how to create one of my glass beads such as a type of flower or fish. I’m really aiming to help you pull out that creative spirit inside of you. Maybe a little homework will be included, too. My goal would be to have you creating your own original glass art, inspired from your soul. Sounds like a lot to bite off but I have this vision and according to Napoleon Hill… “What you can conceive and believe, you can achieve”. So I’m walking my talk with this goal! (scary #2)

EVEN MORE EXCITING NEWS!

I wanted to share with you an article that I am really thrilled about! I was honored to be asked by Softflex company to write an article about myself as an artist/designer. I spent a lot of time thinking what I wanted to say and it may seem a little strange writing what I wrote…. but then again I’m becoming passionate about helping others the more I travel down my spiritual path. This article has a lot to do with me doing my tutorial!

What a wonderful era we live in where we can chase after our dreams and share them with others to use as stepping-stones to reach their dreams. My dream is to capture with glass some of nature’s most beautiful creations. Hi! I’m Patsy Evins and I sculpt fine art glass lampwork beads. My passions are flowers and underwater ocean life but I will throw in desserts when I am dieting.

I have spent a lifetime in the fine arts. I could talk to you about my 8 years of fine art education or my 15 years as a professional artist in art galleries. Or my 13 years in glass lampworking and the books and magazines my glass lampwork beads are in.

“Everything is Perfect”

What I want to talk to you about is one of the most important things I have learned during my life as an artist…. learning to follow the creative spirit within me. Each one of us is so very special. We are all here on earth to create. We are like a jigsaw puzzle, each accountable for creating our piece in this puzzle of life. We were born with our extraordinary gift but it is our responsibility to discover and express it to the very best of our ability.

Are you wondering how you are creating? Think about this. There are two parts to each of us. The physical, our bodies and minds, expresses doubts that tell us “we are not good enough, we can’t do things, that tell us we don’t deserve more”.

Then there is a part of us that whispers, “yes you can, you can do anything you want and have all your dreams”. This part is your spirit, your piece of the puzzle, which was given to you when you were born. Even though it whispers, we must listen to it.

Look at your life. Which part are you listening to? Are your thoughts building you up or tearing you down? We must ignore the loud chatter of doubts from our mind and body. It is in the whispers that all the secrets lie on how to achieve all our dreams. This is creative spirit and is directly connected to and part of universal power, source energy, God or any of the names given to it.

We are all one and yet parts of the whole. We must claim our birthright and use our given creativity as only we can create. If we do, we will be unique, we will be exceptional, and we will be unstoppable!
